National Geographic Society would like to thank Rolex and its Perpetual Planet Initiative for their support of the 2025 Storytellers Summit and their remarkable commitment to the Society’s mission. A partnership that began nearly 70 years ago has paved the way for scientific expeditions to some of the most remote places on Earth—and a better future for us all.
In 2019, the two organizations expanded their work together, launching the National Geographic and Rolex Perpetual Planet Expeditions, a series of expeditions to examine the impact of climate and environmental change on the Earth’s most fragile environments, and document the implications for people and wildlife. From Everest to the Amazon River Basin, these Expeditions have marked many significant milestones—including several Guinness World records—as they advance the protection of Earth's vital life-support systems.
More recently, Rolex has made a significant donation to support the transformation of the National Geographic Society’s global headquarters and public spaces in Washington, D.C – the largest single gift in the Society’s 135-year history.
Rolex’s support of signature events at the National Geographic Society ensures leading scientists and storytellers, visionary conservationists, and inspiring educators have a forum to come together and share their work, findings, and experiences with each other and the public. By sparking powerful collaboration and inspiring others to take action,
Rolex’s Perpetual Planet Initiative accelerates the efforts of explorers everywhere and strengthens our mission to illuminate and protect the wonder of our world.
